A Return To Love.. & Blogging

Written by , Posted in Attractive Energy, Clarity, Inner Purity

Dear Suni-babes,

It’s been a while since I’ve written on the blog, I must say my V-logging has definitely taken over and with a baby it’s just been more of an interactive experience sharing my mind, body, skin tips via video.

Like anything, when you have something removed from your routine for a while you understand what you are now missing. And while video is fun, I didn’t have the opportunity to internalize, reflect, and write about my experiences. 2017 was an amazing year and full of love! And though it was all of that and more, there were moments that I did not share the not-so-amazing because I just didn’t make room for it. I have been quite dismissive on issues that were important if they did not seem positive or uplifting. I withheld compassion for myself and for others in negative situations because I just didn’t have time for it. But now, I understand what was missing and that was simply the allowance of time and space to properly heal & learn. In the coming weeks, I will share these lessons one by one.

For now, without getting into too much detail, I would love to share an excerpt from A Return To Love by Marianne Williamson. I’m sure I’ve shared here before.. a reminder. It is for myself, but also for you in case you’ve forgotten a midst the whirlwind of your busy life.

Thank you, 2017.

Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness
That most frightens us.

We ask ourselves
Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.

Your playing small
Does not serve the world.
There’s nothing enlightened about shrinking
So that other people won’t feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine,
As children do.
We were born to make manifest
The glory of God that is within us.

It’s not just in some of us;
It’s in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine,
We unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we’re liberated from our own fear,
Our presence automatically liberates others.

-Marianne Williamson

xx love & light.

WHY DO YOU DO WHAT YOU DO

Written by , Posted in Clarity

IMG_7220.JPG

I teach to purify and uplift. Why do you do what you do? Sometimes your passion burns out and you have to re-inspire yourself and ask why you do what you do to get you back to the root of the reason. Remember why you started. When the passion burns out ask yourself why. It’s taking a step back and being mindful. Set the ego aside, and get depth in your reasoning.

Here are a few statements to get you thinking:

I am a _________.
Examples: Healer, lover, warrior, inspiration, supporter, game changer.

I do what I do to __________.
Examples: Heal, love, be strong, inspire, support, make change, help and restore.

I _________ to ___________ .
Examples: I blog to inspire change. I cook to create a healthy lifestyle for my family. I create videos to express my passion for yoga.

Xx love and light.

HAND-TO-BIG-TOE POSE

sunina_handtobigtoe

I love including this into my yoga sequence in classes for balance, core engagement, leg strengthening, mind focus, clarity, and a quick confidence boost.

The way to properly execute this pose is to stand up tall, or else you lose balance.

Some tips for Hand-To-Big-Toe Pose:

  1. Open up your shoulders, chest is proud.
  2. Breathe in through your nose, out through your nose.
  3. Standing leg knee is locked.
  4. Lift up the toes of the standing leg.
  5. Your fingers and toes are interlocked tightly.
  6. Core is engaged.
  7. Chin is up – relax the jaw, and maybe even smile!

HALF PIGEON POSE

Written by , Posted in Beauty, Body, Clarity, Love, Mind, Skin Glow, Yoga

yoga 168 Sunina 03965 Half Pigeon! Holding onto stress shows! Release all stress, allow yourself glow instead. The hips hold our emotions, release and forgive. Pigeon pose stimulates the internal organs, making space. It stretches out the psoas muscles, groins, and opens up the hips so we have greater range of motion.

Start at downward facing dog, lift the left foot up, stack the hip, bend the knee, stay here for a moment and stretch out the inner thighs and groins without losing the even balance found at the palms of your hands pushing the weight away from your wrists. Fully feel the sensation, inhale and pull the left knee forwards to the left wrist and lay the shin down gently in front of you. Lower down to evenly sit, opening up the hips. The back leg is active, point the toes. Pull the ribcage in and up, rise high with a tall spine, shoulders back, relax the jaw. Hands are by the sides in finger stand. Option to fold over the knee and relax the forehead down onto the ground, fully relaxing the shoulders and neck. Stay for 8 to 10 breaths. Gently feeling the sensation of the hip flexors opening and making space for emotions to arise, and release. Switch sides by rising back up slowly, palms to the ground for downward facing dog.

IN LA: BUSINESS TRIP SELF-CARE TIPS

Written by , Posted in Body, Clarity, Mind, Self-Care, Skin Glow, Sunina, Work, Yoga

inla So incredibly grateful for my short but sweet trip in LA. It was so productive! Quite honestly it’s been so non-stop that I’m happy to have any down-time and/or alone-time for self-care. I gathered some tips on what you can do for yourself when you travel for business, here are some business trip self-care tips:

  • Wake up 15 minutes earlier than normal just to breathe, stretch, and meditate.
  • Really indulge in every bite of your food whenever you get a chance to sit and eat!
  • Use aromatherapy in the shower, eucalyptus is my favorite! It’s uplifting, refreshing, and helps with fatigue.
  • Pack Yoga Tune Up balls! They are small enough for travel and you can pop them out anywhere for a quick self-massage. They are only $12 and you can get them here.
  • Stop and smell the flowers! One of the best benefits of stopping to admire flowers is that it instantly makes you happy- natural mood booster!
  • Eat for fuel and nutrients. Skip sugary foods and excessive caffeine. Go for greens, protein, vitamin C packed super foods to give you natural food and energy. You’ll glow on the go! Lol

These are some things I did for myself which did not take much time while on this trip. With a packed schedule and limited time with maximum productivity- these little bits of self-care will go a long way. Soooo grateful for everyone that made this trip a bright and beautiful one! THANK YOU.

xx love & light.
