20131010-121627.jpg

It’s Thursday! And I want to talk about a few new products in my beauty cabinet!

Skin:
When bedtime hits you’ve got to make sure every speck of makeup is off your face. I got this new cleansing lotion by PureVivi, and I love it. That along with these Japanese cleansing pads ensure an immaculately clean face for bedtime. Plus it’s so quick!!! It literally melts the makeup off my face, even my mascara without leaving any cotton residue behind. I also love the fact that its alcohol and fragrance free- and no oils! I have mixed feelings about oils, are they good for your face or not??

Will Work For Makeup🙂 So I’ve been wanting to write about Mac cosmetics for a while because they’ve been so gracious with gratis- thank you Christine!!! I love modeling for Mac Artists! Here are a few I’ve used from my gratis so far:

Lips + Cheeks: So here is one lipstick I got over the summer, Love Goddess, a very pretty pink toned RED from the Marilyn Monroe collection. A bronzer I got more recently Nude on Board– love it and use it on my cheeks for days I want to look and feel like I have a healthy sun-kisses glow!

FALL BEAUTY FOCUS

Written by , Posted in Beauty

20130926-122918.jpg

When the season changes many other things adjust- your wardrobe choices, workout routine, makeup colors, and skincare routine.. all very important life decisions!!! No sarcasm here:)

Here are a few beauty related items I am focusing on this Fall!

1) Eyebrows. Specifically korean styled eyebrows that are straight and full. Think Kim Hee Sun and Song Hye Kyo!

2) A simplified skincare routine focusing on eye cream, brightening creams from any sun damage over the summer, and hydrating masks as well as heavier moisturizers for the colder months in NY. I really want to try Chanel Le Lift Créme.. for optimal firmness!

3) Deep dark lips. Like its the 90’s.

4) Consistent Workouts. Do it for yourself, always do it for yourself. Glow
in the heart of winter like its still summertime 2013:-)

5) Lemon water. Would love to get back into dropping lemons in every cup of water I drink. Cucumbers too! Benefits include: vitamin C, fiber, fresh breath(!), and helps you keep your weight at your ideal best.

What is your Fall Beauty Focus?

Let me know in comments or twitter! Xo.

What an amazing day!

Three executives from Ann Taylor Loft followed me around to take notes and pictures on how I shop for a day. They jotted my opinions, habits, thoughts, and other ‘Patricia wisdom’ (ha!). It was a very cute project and I thoroughly enjoyed speaking out loud on what I’m was thinking during the shopping process. As I’ve said before, I’m very quick and am in-and-out. I shop with purpose and for specific events only so that I do not have excess clothes which I probably will not end up wearing anyway! So, the shops in Soho I stopped into were Lululemon, Topshop, Brandy Melville, Sephora, Aritzia, Intermix, Marciano, and a few more on Broadway.

After the entire afternoon of productive shopping, I was spontaneously called into model for a Brazilian training session at Mac Pro – they needed to demonstrate a ‘Red Carpet’ look.  There were so many useful tips I got from this 2-hour session! Here are 3 must-knows:

  1. Cut false lashes in half, gently place one towards the end of your lash-line UNDER your natural lashes. Do the same for your other eye.
  2. Highlight you upper lips center before you place red or any other color lipstick. This really defines your your lips and makes them pop.
  3. Taupe cheek colors are a MUST, everyone should have taupe. It defines your cheeks naturally and you could even opt for a color blush afterwards.

Birthdays are so much fun to both plan and attend. Love picking out cakes to perfectly suit the birthday girl/boy, the menus, the venue, what to wear, hair & makeup… just fun!

The picture above was from my life-size Barbie’s birthday dinner in February at Mr. Chow’s. All girls at the table were gorgeous, lively, and.. angelic 😉

Five Birthday [Guest] Beauty Tips:

1) Dress to impress, wear a dress!! It’s a time to celebrate. Wear your highest heels and a poppy lip color. Wear a colorful top if possible or a detailed lace top for ‘table pictures’.

2) Focus on impeccable hair and makeup. You most likely will not have too many photos standing up and will be conversing with guests all night- so look cute.

3) If the birthday girl/boy insists on no gifts, it isn’t necessary but it’s still nice to present a card or a little something special. It’s her/his day!

4) If the host orders for the table, the bill is most likely handled by the host- unless he’s a crazed control freak-foodie! You will know by the invite if you’re expected to pay or not. The biggest hint is if you’re notified of what the menu is like along with your invitation. If so, pay for yourself and a portion of the birthday boy/girls’ bill.

5) The birthday girl/boy should not be handling the cake- someone must take charge! xo

Happy birthday to all, Aquarius + Pisces! It’s been a busy birthday February/March for me, whew!

The makeup artist, Mia Koo, for my photo shoot with Manhattan Magazine over the weekend was amazing. It was so much fun transforming into a Geisha through makeup, hair, and wardrobe! Thought this would be a great post to get some last minute ideas going for Halloween.

My #1 goal in life (right now) is to wakeup early, do all the 1 million things I’d love to do’s in the morning- have a leisurely breakfast, go to the gym, play with the pups, etc! We all have our morning dos and wants. What are yours?

So what is the one thing we do every morning? I never leave the house without makeup or at least some form of skincare/haircare- even if its just a touch of gloss or a spritz of hair serum. So, I thought of the idea to do a Wakeup To Makeup series – self explanatory. But for me the best part of waking up is to washup and apply makeup!

For my first one, Ty happened to be running towards me during my recording after his bath (Daddy is in the background “thank you!”). So he looks all shiny and happy, while I find a way to do a quick touch-up with a 4-year-old boy on my lap. LOVE how it turned out, so this ended up being the final cut. xx

Late night video editing!

Spontaneously my boyfriend’s son, Ty, jumped up on my lap while I was recording a makeup how-to. Loved the new idea that creeped up as I was editing- I guess he will be my special guest in the vid, and the reason my how-to will change direction a bit: how-to do a FAST touchup with a 4-year-old boy on your lap, whilst being rushed by your BF.. Vid coming soon!

Currently:

Hangin’ out at Sephora like a beauty bum, ahem queen.

Caught a glimpse of a girl staring at me for longer than the awkward 9 seconds you are allowed to stare without being rude. (maybe it is because I am taking iPhone self portraits of myself here while waiting for Raebear to pick me up..?)

Love Sephora.

I feel completely at home here, everyone’s so nice and full of compliments! One Sephora girl said, “Wow! You look hydrated!” I am über excited to share my skin products with you tomorrow at FNO!

Photo: Post photo shoot for Manhattan Magazine in Soho. Super fun, even more fun now that I’m in my playhouse x

Mally Perfect Prep under eye brightener in Lighter.

I almost always only stick to the very basics, so for me this Mally product was not an essential- at first. Rae bear’s mom first showed me her ‘secret weapon’ weeks ago. I tried it and liked it but thought to myself that it was probably a luxury product I didn’t necessarily need in my makeup bag. But then something magical happened- she handed me a pot of my own to keep. Mothers know best.

I honestly love it and have it in my makeup bag daily now. It perks you up when you look tired. The yellow hyper pigmented consistency deflects the blue dark circles under your eyes. It’s not a concealer replacer. It’s $35 for a pot but will last you forev (a year). Get it at QVC.
