ALL THAT I GIVE IS GIVEN TO ME

Written by , Posted in Clarity, Inspiration, Self-Care, Yoga

Monday mantra today is simple, what your mama always told you- what you give is what you get.
All that I give is given to me. When I do more yoga I feel good all around- mind, body, soul. When I meditate, I am more relaxed and I do not react, I just am. When I work out and sweat, I look and feel better. When I eat clean and balanced, I feel lighter and healthier. When I smile more, I get that energy back from the people around me, but multiplied.

The opportunity is all around you to give, and be given.

Happy Monday, love and light!

SUNINA x ALLY LOVE: 20 MINUTES OF BEAUTY

Written by , Posted in Beauty, Self-Care, Skin Glow

IMG_0040 IMG_0035 IMG_0037 IMG_0039

IMG_0041 Here is Part II of Ally Love and I’s beauty post; Part I can be found here. Ally know’s the importance of putting her mind and body at ease to achieve beauty seemingly effortlessly. She jets around New York on modeling shoots as a Wilhelmina model, is a Brooklyn Nets Host, and passionate devotee of all things wellness, so its no wonder she is also founder of ALLYLOVEBLOG.COM; It is all about empowering yourself and other women in the game, hence #LOVESQUAD – check it out!

I was so thrilled to have spent the day with her for all things beauty, we took our time to meditate (as seen on our last post), and to do a mini spa facial as well. We are both constantly on the go, so it is great to share with you a 20-minute self-care ritual that you can do for yourself at anytime. It’s about that glow on the go! Here’s what we did to achieve a quick glow while we were both on the go:

Step 1: Hello Kitty Narikiri Face Mask – these are so fun. I picked these up in Japan at a stopover in Narita Airport. It’s a super simple mask that contains water, soybean extracts, collagen, and other ingredients for brightening – perfect for a quick glow. Keep this on for just 15 Minutes.

Step 2: A nice mist after the mask to serve as a toner: Whamisa Olive Leaf Mist – This is one of my favorites to keep around with me at all times. I take them around the city with me and even spritz while teaching, after working out, or anytime i just need a little pick me up or glow in the skin.

Step 3J.One Hana Cream – These little capsules are just the right amount to give you full moisturizing coverage. It is a dramatic anti-aging cream. Use this after you pat your mist dry. Use gentle circular motions.

And, don’t forget your SPF if you are headed outside while the sun is still out! And you’re done!

xx love & light.

BEAUTY BENEFITS OF MEDITATION

Written by , Posted in Beauty, Happiness, Inner Purity, Inspiration, Mind, Self-Care, Skin Glow

IMG_0024

IMG_0032 IMG_0036

Ally Love (Ally Love Blog) and I had a spa session just in time for our birthdays! (Happy Birthday Ally!) We split it up into two parts: Mediation and Skincare. (The skincare post will be up on Friday). For included meditation into our beauty focused spa session because we know, love, and feel the importance of meditation for our healthy glow. Here is a curated list of what meditation means to us for beauty.

The Beauty Benefits of Meditation:

Slows Aging, as you meditate you bring energy (prana aka life) and fuller breaths into your body. It pumps more oxygen into the places that are tight and weak, it also brings a glow to your skin. You may notice after some time meditating that there is less tension in your face and you can really feel the difference when you are done. Breathing mindfully transforms the tissues and cells in your body. It brightens your complexion and makes you look and feel younger; working that natural glow from the inside out!

Builds Confidence, meditation keeps your mood even and calm, giving you an even keeled demeanor. It can instantly improve your mood and this builds your self-confidence as well. Meditation helps you get to know your true self, and when you know yourself you can only shine bright with confidence.

Healthier Choices, when you make mediation a habit you build your awareness muscle. As that muscle gets stronger you are more in the moment with everyday life which gives you the benefit of making better and healthier choices. It is when we are mindlessly moving through life that we make not so great choices that could effect our health. And, health is not only wealth-  but beauty as well.

INSTANTLY ELEVATE YOUR WORLD

Written by , Posted in Beauty, Clarity, Inner Purity, Mind

IMG_0013

FullSizeRender

Heightening of your inner world will instantly elevate the reality of your outer world.

However, easier said than done, right? Especially if you have not yet built the awareness around what holds you back from elevating your world instantly. How aware are you of your emotions and how it could take control of you. For this post, we will call it ‘shadow’, ie. your dark side, the heavier side of your emotions. First we identify what the shadow is, the ‘thing’ that holds you back from elevating your world.

Shadow Main Ingredients:

  • Secrecy – not to reveal basic desires
  • Shame
  • Judgement
  • Blame
  • Projection
  • Separation
  • Enemies
  • Struggle – constant state of inner vs. outer warfare

The result of your shadow is war, struggle, and unnecessary drama.

The solution to uncreate the shadow by accepting your duality of light and dark. It is to be aware of your shadow and to acknowledge it. Instead of allowing shadow to take charge, we must take charge as creators of our own lives.

Duality is where you are, your split self is your most damaging illusion. In other words, when you identify your bad side and your good side you’re creating a separation instead of saying both your good and bad is OK, they are emotions that you can identify with. You are not ashamed of your shadow. It is also the knowing that if you did not have your shadow you would not be able to experience light.

You also have choices. Choose to accept your shadow, here are the choices:

1.  Stop Projecting. Be open to your shadow, here are projection examples and what it truly disguises:

  • Superiority disguises your own fear of rejection.
  • Arrogance disguises bottled up anger, beneath that is deep seated pain.
  • Defensiveness disguises the feeling that you are unworthy and weak.
  • Blame disguises the feeling that you are at fault and should be ashamed.
  • Idealizing others disguises the feeling that you are a weak helpless child that needs protecting, also feelings of inferiority.
  • Prejudice disguises the feeling that you are inferior and deserve to be rejected.
  • Jealousy disguises your own impulse to stray, or a sense of sexual inadequacy.
  • Paranoia disguises deap seated anxiety.

Make peace with your projections. Here’s how: alertness, willingness, openness, honesty, courage. Feel the fear, and say “I see you, you belong to me.” Make peace with your feelings. Once you feel what you have, you can choose to push it down, attack it further, judge it. Or you can heal the unwanted feeling, face it, and acknowledge it. Hopefully you choose the latter. If you do not heal it, it will persist.

2. Detach: I can get through this, I won’t feel better unloading on someone else, acting out leads to regret and guilt, i can be patient lets see if i can cool down, moods come and go even the worst moods, I know how to center myself.

3. Give Up Self Judgement: Every emotion is valid in some way but when you add self-judgement, any emotion can be damaging. Grant sympathy for yourself, and be understanding of yourself. The inner judge dissolves when you are kind to yourself, and you sympathize with your self. Let your sympathy flow.

4. Rebuild Your Emotional Body: keeping your emotional body as healthy as we keep our physical body. When we are not feeling nourished emotional we feel fatigued, anxious. Emotional body should remain pleasing to experience.

Mantra: The lightness of being.

Tips to Build Your Emotional Body:

  • Becoming more whole
  • Learning to be resilient
  • Dispelling the demons of the past
  • Healing old wounds
  • Expecting the best and highest for yourself
  • Adopting realistic ideals.
  • Giving of yourself
  • Being generous especially with your spirit
  • Seeing through your fears
  • Learning self acceptance
  • Communicating with your higher self

Awareness and consciously choosing your thoughts in order to elevate your world instantly takes some not so instant work:) Keep going!

xx love and light.

ROSEWATER + PIZZA (?)

Written by , Posted in Yoga

This post is inspired by the guy who rang me up at juice press in the upper east side the other day. I asked for soup options as I bought my rosewaters and ginger waters, they all sounded great and super healthy but I just said “Nah, no thanks..” He says “are you sure we also have this this…” And kept pressing– haha juice press… So I finally had to admit, “I’m just going to get pizza. Thanks..” With a chuckle he approved. I mean, pizza.

How I eat for nutrition, body, skin, and sanity..

  • Drink lots of fluids, H2O, love all the new additions of waters at Juice Press (aloe, vitamin C, ginger, and especially rose water)
  • Start your day with something very clean and hydrating. I love an acai bowl or fruit smoothie in the morning. Sometimes it’s just a youthberry tea
  • I love pizza, I love white rice, and I will have it when I want 😎
  • I choose fruits for snacks instead of processed foods and if I can go gluten free with snacks, why not? If I am craving potato chips I’ll go for sweet potato chips cooked with coconut oil.
  • I use coconut oil to cook my foods
  • I make a lot of my own shakes so I know what goes in it.

When I crave it, I get it. When you allow a craving to go for a while is when you have a bigger chance of going overboard.

Yesterday a friend asked me if I have cheat days.. And I guess by assumption you would assume I am extra healthy all the time but really I just enjoy what I love when I want. I don’t feel the need to over eat because I have a healthy relationship with my food. I eat only until I am just under full. So there really isn’t a “cheat day” I would consider everyday a cheat in that case because my day is balanced by what I want and not truly ruled by any strict diet.

I usually consume nutritious foods because that is naturally what I crave. But if I want Pizza or Taco Bell I will have it.

Eat for health and sanity:) xx love and light

3 SIMPLE WAYS HOW TO UPLIFT YOURSELF FROM A WINTER RUT

Written by , Posted in Clarity, Happiness, Inspiration, Mind

IMG_3139

It is February, right at the heart of winter in New York. Some winter months I tend to get a wave of unmotivated energy – any one else out there? It is the month that I have to pump up my self-care: pump up my meditation & yoga, work out efficiently (thank you SLT), pay special attention to how and what I eat, and take extra special care of my dry skin.

Here are 3 simple steps to unwinding out of your, dare I say, rut:

Come back to your center: meditate, do yoga, eat clean. Do lots of yoga positions that are uplifting the heart (upward facing dog). When you repeatedly remind yourself of your truth, and when you count all your blessings a rut is impossible.

Get your energy back: for extroverts, surrounding yourself with a lot of friends re-energizes you. For introverts, surrounding yourself with a few that you love is just enough, and mostly quiet time to recharge your energy is what you need.

Wake up earlier: when you are in a rut, you tend to wake later, start your day later, and it becomes a downward spiral of rushing through the day when you have things to do. Start your day earlier and have ample time for the things you want to accomplish for the day.

MANIFEST DESIRES – 1 OF 3

Written by , Posted in Clarity, Events, Inspiration, Mind, Yoga

We all have desires. What are yours? If you are not happy with the outcome of a certain situation, or maybe your goals are not being met and you’re stuck in a routine- you need a change. What you’re actually stuck on are limiting beliefs on yourself which need to be let go as the first step for change. There are three concepts you need to change your outcome:

  • Awareness – an awareness of your thoughts which lead to your actions. Being present and experiencing the events of your life as it is unfolding. It is when you are aware that you are able to choose your thoughts. When you are present and aware of your thoughts you have the ability to reframe your thoughts, choose another thought. Change your thoughts, which change your action, which lead to a different outcome.
  • Gratitude – gratitude for all that you have, so it multiplies. You must first be grateful for all that you have.
  • A burning desire – you must have a desire, a goal that get you so excited your heart pumps out of your chest for it. What is it that is calling out to you. This is essential, and should never be ignored. Call out your desires.

I will be continuing this 3-part blog post on desire fulfillment within the week here on the blog. Stay tuned! This dharma and tools for meditation will be practiced at the Yoga Glow event in NYC on Dec. 17th! For more info: www.sunina.com/yoga-glow

BE YOU, BE BRIGHT.

Written by , Posted in Beauty, Body, Mind, Reflection, Sunina

IMG_0595

What an amazing feeling when you can share your passion and be authentically you. Self-discovery, and the major shift that you may experience is an out of the world experience that you want to share with the world. Some people take years, some people never reach that point. But if and when you do, you want to share this positive shift in every way you can.

My passion is wellness, inner beauty care and outer beauty care, meditation, beautiful imagery, speaking and teaching, uplifting others. When I post, I post because I genuinely have a message to share. If the intention of the photos you post are not fear-based (out of insecurity, for validation), and it is a passion that you love to express, and there is a joy you want to share with others, then do it!

Real talk: While discussing my career, a friend recently said to me, “What are you doing? What are you trying to accomplish? Are you trying to be a celebrity? Then just say so, be honest!”. Now these were spoken in the form of questions, but I heard them as statements because they felt accusatory and I felt it cheapened my pure intentions. And with everything circulating right now with the news of the Instagram star that shut out social media- Essena, it is a subject that all of us who have a presence on social media, have to consider, what is our intention?

If your intention is coming from a place of ego, for likes, for validation, to become ‘insta-famous’, then yes- you should re-evalutate how you look at yourself and your self worth. What is your self-concept, how is your esteem level? Is your fleeting confidence coming from the validation you get from likes?

It is refreshing to see a young girl sharing this major shift in her life. The way she is sharing it is powerful. However, I like to emphasize in the fact that everyones journey is unique and different. Everyone is coming from a different place and from a different experience. So to snap judge a person and their intentions may not be so fair, maybe step back and realize there is some inner work that needs to be done. We need to take responsibility for our emotions.

Although I was annoyed with the comment from my friend about trying to be a ‘celebrity’, I accepted her statement as a way to reflect on my daily intentions and to watch carefully how I post and to reflect on what I have been posting. My clear intention is to cleanse, inspire, and uplift. What it all comes down to is that, I have a message to share and I do that the best way I can. I am thankful for the reflection, and I know that this caring friend was only speaking from the world that she knows.

We are all doing our best, it is important to know this and to share compassion before judgment. If you see someone that is doing something and you make a judgement, it may be because it is a reflection of how you might be feeling inside yourself. We are all mirrors for each other. How we see the world is how you see yourself. Be gentle with yourself first. And don’t be so quick to judge, especially yourself. We all make the mistakes to come to a realization of what we need to learn to move on to the next level of enlightenment.

Do all things with integrity and balance.

xx love & light. Be you, be bright!!!!

YOGA GLOW, NYC – NOVEMBER 12

Written by , Posted in Beauty, Body, Events, Inner Purity, Mind, Self-Care, Sexy Tone, Skin Glow, Sunina, Yoga

I am so excited to share with you, Yoga Glow, a class dedicated to your expression of higher thoughts, movement, and self-care for the mind, body, beauty. I have been refining and working towards this concept for a few years and now it is finally ready for you!!

Here are the details:

Thursday, November 12th at 7pm! Location: Penthouse at Wyndham Hotel, NYC.

50-minutes of breath synchronized movement dedicated to waist slimming, derrière lifting, and anti-aging asanas! Move to energetic and soothing tunes. It ends with an ahhmazing ‘spa-vasana’. You will relax with eucalyptus aromatherapy in a hydrating mask while guided into a conscious relaxation meditation.

Mats, towels, blocks, and juices provided for guests.

Masks and gift bags provided by Peach and Lily.

I believe that the beauty of a woman is in the way that she carries herself. Supremly confident, but not superior. Shares her dynamic presence not by boasting, but by simply being. She takes the time to take care of herself, both in the mirror and in meditation. Outer self care is not frivolous, it is our divine duty to take care of our skin, our bodies, our essence. To be spiritual does not mean to suppress your goddess self. It means to uncover it, reveal it, embrace it. Take care of your inner self just as much as you do your outer self. Men, do not shy away as this is for you too! We are all emotional beings that can do so much more if we let go of the things that hold us heavy. Self-care is for everyone, and it is an expression of love for yourself.

Connecting with our inner selves is our divine duty. Feeling good is our divine duty. Glowing from the inside out is true beauty.

Once again, I am so excited and I cannot wait for the 12th. I hope to share my practice with you there!

Xx love and light.

BRAGGING VS. BEING

Written by , Posted in Beauty, Clarity, Inner Purity, Mind, Skin Glow

IMG_0163

Bragging vs. Being.

Bragging by definition is to ‘talk or write about oneself in a proud or self-impressed way; arrogant talk or manner. Bragging is a verbal kind of showing off.  (Humblebrags included!) We all know someone who does this, have done this, and at some point you may have been guilty of it too. This is a sign of ego getting in the way of truth. Truth does not need to brag. It is when we feel inadequate, insecure, or in need of attention.

Being. Simply being you, the true you that is happy when you are doing what you love is when you naturally shine bright. It is an energy that is so strong that anyone around you can feel it. Being you no matter how insecure it may make others feel is not bragging or showing off, it is simply being you. Playing down abilities, your opinions, your taste, or your talents because you are afraid of making others feel insecure is not of your concern. You are here to 100% be you and to express what you’ve been given to do your work here.

ENERGY FLOWS TO WHERE YOUR ATTENTION GOES

Written by , Posted in Attractive Energy, Clarity, Mind, You

IMG_1022

Energy flows to where your attention goes. Surround yourself with good vibrations, good visuals of things you want to attract into your life. Fill your mind space with good clean energy. Look to the sky if the streets are not so pretty, train yourself to find the beauty in all things.

Awareness and attention are vastly different. I can be aware of all of the nasty, unhealthy, unkind happenings in the world but I refuse to place my attention towards it. This would only attract more of it, and towards me and the world. It does not matter who you are you are a magnet. It is your choice what you attract.

And I quote this over and over – this quote that I love by Mother Teresa:

“I was once asked why I don’t participate in anti-war demonstrations. I said that I will never do that, but as soon as you have a pro-peace rally, I’ll be there.” –  Mother Teresa

INTENTION ENERGIZES; ACTION TRANSFORMS

Written by , Posted in Body, Clarity, Inspiration, Mind, Strength, You

Intention energizes; action transforms.

What is my real intention? This is the question I had to ask myself subconsciously the past few weeks when I’ve felt an energy block. Work wasn’t flowing so easily, opportunities seemed blocked. I had to look inwards and call out my intention. What I realized was that I actually did have a lot of opportunities in front of me. I just wasn’t recognizing each opportunity with its own unique possibilities. I was dismissive. I had my mind set on my own set of outcomes. When I released the idea of exclusivity, and of only doing jobs based on how ‘cool’ it would be for me, the block seemed to slowly release. I started to open up and embrace jobs that were more based upon the big picture, the jobs that would further my purpose which is to inspire, uplift, and cleanse- and this can happen in as many places and platforms that I am able to effectively. It is not at all about me, nor is it about ‘branding’. I put my ego to the side. It gave me a renewed energy to go out and get it- or in this situation.. give it, and to take action on the true intention.

Action was missing because I was so in tune with ‘branding’ and only waiting for jobs that were of a certain tier. I looked beyond my high expectiations, and saw what the real opportunity would be in each and every one of the inquiries for work/collaborations I already had in front of me. When I have my true intention in mind, the work in front of me feels exciting. And when it feels exciting, you should definitely do it! I decided to take action and, like Nike, just do it.

Slowly I see and feel a transformation and feel supported- and almost immediately after this shift, I open my email and I get more favorable inquiries. The block was released. Recently I’ve noticed signs, I kept seeing the numbers 777, which according to spiritual numerology, is a ‘sign that I am on my authentic life path and making progress towards accomplishing my purpose’. My energy now feels balanced and my perception has shifted.

If you feel blocked, I encourage you to look inwards at your own intentions for doing what you do. If you feel you are at a standstill in your work, relationship, or life in general, set your ego aside and ask yourself why you do what you do. What is your intention? Then, take action on that intention to experience transformation.
